Fortunately, Pneuhage Hockenheim agreed to repair the damaged rim.
Finding solutions is a hallmark of a good business relationship!
Many thanks to Mr. Mijatovic and the entire team!
PS: I'll add the last star after the repair is completed – then everything will be as it should be.
Unfortunately, I have nothing positive to report about today's tire change – or rather, about the events that followed.
Specifically, I would like to address the management, who have unfortunately shown no understanding so far regarding the following accident/problem:
I brought my Volvo XC90 in for a tire change today. From dropping off the car to the tire change itself, everything went smoothly.
After paying, I was given the key. The car was parked in the Pneuhage parking lot right in front.
Since I wanted to put my jacket in the trunk, I opened it.
At that moment, a wheel unexpectedly rolled towards me and then out of the trunk. Unfortunately, someone packed the wheels in the trunk on their rolling surfaces.
The end result is that one wheel rolled out of the trunk and the rim was damaged when it hit the concrete floor.
The car's wheels are (were) brand new. Without a scratch or any damage.
The branch manager's response after I called him and explained and showed him the situation was: "There's nothing we can do, since I opened the trunk... If it had happened to a Pneuhage employee, they would have insurance... which would cover it..."
Now I'm wondering why, as a professional, you store wheels in the trunk on their rolling surface instead of stacking them horizontally. The trunk is certainly big enough.
Mr. Branch Manager, we can still sort this out.
Otherwise, the matter will be resolved legally.
Best regards and have a nice evening,
Claus
PS: Now I have the pleasure of going to the doctor, as the capsule in my middle finger was slightly injured when I tried to catch the wheel...

I had my wheel alignment done at this workshop before my vacation and then drove about 2,500 km. After my return, I noticed that the rear tires were worn almost down to the casing on the inside – and that after only two weeks.
I went back to the workshop to clarify. They told me that, according to the report, everything had been adjusted correctly and all the values were fine. They suspected that the tires had already worn unevenly before the alignment, and the wear had simply continued. The workshop's response: "With new tires, everything should be fine."
I hope they're right. If the problem recurs with new tires, I'll investigate further. Until then, it's a bitter aftertaste – two rear tires ruined after 2,500 km, and no one feels responsible.
